The Mass Ave Criterium is produced by Indy Criterium, Inc., a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization comprised of ten volunteer board members who serve year-round to organize and support our signature program, the Indy Criterium Bicycle Festival.
We are a group of civic-minded individuals with backgrounds in education, event management, sales, engineering, human resources, IT, business, and non-profit management.
2019 marks the first year the Mass Ave Criterium and Indy Criterium will be held on consecutive days in July to offer racers from across the country the opportunity for an action-packed weekend in the home city of the Racing Capital of the World.
Since 2010, the Indy Criterium has raised nearly $164,000 to support Freewheelin’ Community Bikes Earn-A-Bike program and other local charities.
The mission of Indy Criterium, Inc. is to positively impact the central Indiana community by:
Organizing and managing high quality bicycling events and festivals;
Promoting urban recreation, sport, and healthy lifestyles; and
Utilizing proceeds from these events to assist other charities who serve to improve the Indianapolis community, specifically those charities with a focus on serving youth with mentoring, health, or physical fitness programs.
The Indy Criterium Bicycle Festival was founded in 2010 by Jennifer Cvar, a former amateur bicycle racer who envisioned an epic bicycle race and festival in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Since such time, the event has grown into one of the largest cycling races in the Midwest, attracting thousands of spectators, families, racers and volunteers.
